History
GPpartners was first established in 1993 as the Brisbane North Division of General Practice under the Commonwealth Government's national General Practice Program.
In 2006 Brisbane North Division of General Practice changed name to GPpartners and became a company limited by guarantee.
In 2011 under the Government's health reform agenda, divisions of general practice were invited to set up a new national network of primary healthcare organisations - Medicare Locals - that would "address local health needs, improve access to services and to drive integration across the health care system".
GPpartners Ltd applied to set up one of the first Medicare Locals in South East Queensland. GPpartners application was successful and on 1 July 2011, its programs, services and staff were transferred to the Metro North Brisbane Medicare Local.
