"We’re working to improve health care in our community through strong general practice".

About Us

Improving our community’s health through strong primary health care.

GPpartners is a division of general practice, located in Brisbane’s north. Our catchment includes more than 800 GPs, over 200 general practices, three of Brisbane’s major public hospitals, several private hospitals and a population of almost 600,000 - making us the largest division by population size in Australia.

Our team of general practitioners and professional staff work toward achieving better health for the people living in our community through strong local primary health care.

We provide GPs and practice staff with information, training, advice and initiatives so they can better manage and improve care for their patients, improve their businesses and connect with local primary health providers.

As a member of the Australian General Practice Network, we also advocate for primary health care. We welcome the views of local GPs and healthcare providers on issues that affect quality care and the delivery of health services locally, to ensure our view is informed by local needs.

We have strong links with government, local political representatives, local primary health care providers and other medical representative bodies. These relationships, along with the support of our members, give us a voice in general practice issues.

GPpartners acknowledges funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and from others including Queensland Health. Funding is also sourced through project and research funding pools, community organisations and private industry. GPs contribute with an annual membership fee.

For more information about our initiatives, see Programs.

GPpartners is accredited under AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000
