Quality Use of Medicines

Our Quality use of Medicines program provides a quality, evidence based educational program for GPs about medicines and prescribing. Three main activities are undertaken:

1.  Delivery of the National Prescribing Service educational visiting programs.
2.  Promotion of Medication Management Review services - Home Medicines Review (HMR); Residential Medication Management Review (RMMR).
3.  Promotion of the DVA Dose Administration Aid (DAA) service for veterans.

Other QUM services include :

  • Educational workshops and activities
  • Subscription to journals and other sources of clinical literature
  • Liaison with local pharmacies
  • Locally developed resources

Contact our Facilitators Ann Winkle or Cathy Prest, both clinical pharmacists, if you have questions about prescribing and medicines issues.
